Is PedVault safe? Who can see my pedigrees?
Only you. Nothing in your vault is public. A pedigree is seen by someone else only when you create a share link and send it to them, and you choose how long that link works: an hour, a week, or until you turn it off. Shared pages are hidden from search engines, and your private notes are never shown on them.
How is my data kept secure?
Every connection to PedVault is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are never stored, only a secure fingerprint of them. Each phone or computer you sign in on gets its own key, which you can turn off at any time from Settings. Location and camera details are stripped from every photo before it’s saved, and the vault is backed up every day (photos every week).
What happens if pedigreeplatform.com or apbtpedigree.com goes offline, or removes a dog?
Nothing happens to your copy. When you import a pedigree, PedVault saves the dog, its ancestors and their photos into your vault and onto your device. After that it doesn’t depend on the original site at all. If the site is still up later, you can import again to pick up any new details.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Your whole vault is kept on your phone, so you can open any pedigree, photo or note with no signal. Changes you make offline are saved straight away and sync to your other devices when you’re back online.
What if I lose my phone?
Sign in on your new phone and your vault downloads again: it’s kept in your account, not only on the device. Then turn off the lost phone’s access in Settings. The next time it connects, its copy of your vault is wiped.
Can I get all my data out?
Yes. Settings has a one-tap export: every dog, pedigree and note as readable data, plus all your photos, in one zip file. You can restore that file into PedVault later, into the same account or a new one.
Can I add dogs that aren’t on any site?
Yes. Add a dog by hand, such as a litter of your own, connect it to its sire and dam in your vault, and its full pedigree appears straight away. You can add photos and notes to it like any other dog.
Is PedVault part of those pedigree sites?
No. PedVault is independent. It saves a personal copy of the public pedigree page you give it, for your own records, and doesn’t change anything on the original site.
Who’s behind PedVault?
A small team of APBT breeders and owners who also build software. We started PedVault after watching pedigrees we relied on disappear when a site went down or a page was removed. You can reach us at hello@pedvault.com, and a real person reads every message.
Do I need to install an app?
No app store needed. PedVault runs in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app, full screen and offline. It works on iPhone, Android and computers.
How much does it cost?
PedVault is free during early access. If paid plans are added later, you’ll hear about them well before anything changes.
